Dear Blanche Community,

My name is Garth Garris and I am looking forward to serving as the principal at Blanche for the upcoming 2024-25 school year.

I began my teaching career in 1991 as a history teacher and boys basketball coach at East Limestone High School and served in that position until 2003. 

Beginning in 2003, I spent seven years in the Madison County school system serving as an assistant principal at Monrovia Elementary School for three years, assistant principal at Hazel Green High School for two years, and principal at Madison County High School for two years.

In 2010, I became the head boys basketball coach at Elkmont High School until 2013 when I became the principal at Elkmont in 2013. 

In 2016 I retired from Alabama and accepted the principal position at Highland Rim School. I remained at Highland Rim until 2017 when I became the principal at Lincoln County High School and served as principal for two years. I returned to Highland Rim and served at principal from 2019-2022 and was then named principal at Blanche for the 22-23 school year. 

We had an amazing 23-24 school year and I am looking forward to the new school year!
